| I use this file as a way to hide files from people on the web. Although it can't keep any serious hacker out it will keep the nosy people from going and looking at all my files. When they try to access one of my Sub-folders their browser finds and loads this file it must be in a sub-folder and must named either index.html (index.htm) or default.html (default.htm) depending on Your server. |
| Easy! as You hover a link with the mouse You can see where the link (if You use the status bar in Your browser) is going (what page or sub-folder) and by knowing what sub folders are used You can try entering that sub-folder. Without an auto load file (index or default) You can see whatever is located in that sub-folder. |
| The same can be done by right clicking on a graphic and selecting properties, Look for the Address (URL) and it will show the full path to the image. If the image is in a subfolder then You can usually view that Sub-folder. |
