Fanuc 6T Control - Tool Offsets

Standard Tool ~ Select a tool to be the standard tool, typically tool #1 is used, but it can be any tool. If needed set the offset for the standard tool to X0.0, Z0.0. The Standard tool will not need to be offset, and all other tools will be offset from it.
Tool Setting ~ Using MDI mode set the machine to use the standard tool and the standard offset (for this example tool one is used as the standard tool). Press [T] [0] [1] [0] [1] [INPUT] [Cycle Start]. The machine will rapid move to tool #1's X0, Z0 position and index to tool 1.
Setting X ~ Using JOG mode start the spindle and move the standard tool into position to cut. Jog (- X direction) until the tool starts to cut, jog the tool (+ Z direction) away from the material while not changing X, stop the spindle and measure the cut diameter. Use Machine Lock to lock the position, and then jog X until the display matches the measured diameter. Another way to do this is to use a material of a known diameter, and just touch the tool to the material, then use machine lock and jog until the display matches the diameter.
Setting Z ~ Using JOG mode start the spindle and move the standard tool into position to cut. Jog (- Z direction) until the tool starts to cut, jog the tool (+ X direction) away from the material while not changing Z. Press [POS] until X & Z are displayed, then press [Z] [ORGIN] to set the Z position to 00.000.
Tool Offset ~ Using JOG mode index to the next tool for seting offsets. Jog (- X direction) until the tool just touches diameter of material and record the value displayed for X. The value recorded minus the material's diameter will be the X offset for that tool. Jog (- Z direction) until the tool just touches the face of the material and record the value displayed for Z. The recorded value will become the Z offset for that tool.
